Why it matters

The Dunes Club opened in 1948 — a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design that ran along the Atlantic and was, for two generations, the only championship-grade course in Myrtle Beach. The 13th hole — "Waterloo" — is the most-photographed par-5 in the Carolinas. The course has hosted four PGA Tour Q-Schools and a US Women's Open. It is the historic marquee of the Strand and remains the most-played serious round in town.

How to play it

Cart standard. Centrally located in Myrtle Beach itself — convenient for North Strand stays. Visitors typically book through resort packages or directly through the club. Pair with Tidewater for a north-Strand two-course day.
