Why it matters

The Captains is owned by the town of Brewster and runs two distinct 18s — Port and Starboard. Port is the locals' pick and the walkable half, routing through dense pitch-pine and oak with subtle green complexes. The conditioning is closer to a private club than a municipal facility, and the rate doesn't reflect it.

How to play it

Resident pricing is real; non-resident rates are still reasonable. Walkable easily. Book a morning tee time and stay for the post-round clam shack scene at Arnold's in Eastham, ten minutes east.
