Why it matters
Bayonet & Black Horse occupy the former Fort Ord land 20 minutes north of Pebble. Both 18s were built for serious military golfers in the 1950s-60s and renovated in the 2000s — Bayonet is the longer, tougher test (the "old soldier"), Black Horse the slightly more open companion. The combined entry is the smartest Monterey-area pair when the Pebble-area courses are full or out of budget.
How to play it
Bookable in advance through the shared resort entry. Cart standard. A 36-hole day across both 18s is the standard play.
